Job Purpose:Robot engineer: New robot and replacement setup.
Standard Operating Procedures & Documentation for preventive management
Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):
11) Robot Commissioning & Deployment (New Equipment Setup)- Lead the installation, commissioning, and teaching of industrial and collaborative robots for new production lines.
- Develop and optimize robot programs (path programming, logic integration, and cycle time optimization) to meet production requirements.
- Perform system integration testing between robots and peripheral equipment, including PLCs, vision systems, and end-effectors.
- Conduct safety risk assessments and validate robot safety functions (e.g., safety zones, collision detection) prior to production handover.
- Coordinate with automation and process teams to ensure seamless layout integration and joint tracking performance.
2) Equipment Retrofit, Legacy Replacement & Evaluation- Evaluate and analyze aging robot systems to determine the feasibility of overhaul, upgrade, or full replacement.
- Develop technical specifications and scope of work for replacing legacy robot models with newer technology.
- Review vendor technical proposals and system layouts for new robot implementations to ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure.
- Manage the execution of robot migration projects, minimizing production downtime during changeovers.
- Assess ROI and justification for equipment upgrades based on cycle time improvements, energy efficiency, and maintenance cost reduction
3) Robot Preventive Maintenance & Issue Resolution- Establish and execute preventive/predictive maintenance schedules for all operational robots (e.g., backup management, grease analysis, mechanical calibration).
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex robot failures during mass production, focusing on minimizing Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on recurring mechanical, electrical, or software issues in robotic systems.
- Optimize robot paths and parameters on live lines to improve repeatability, reduce component wear, and prevent collisions.
- Manage critical spare parts inventory for robot controllers, manipulators, and teaching pendants to ensure high availability.
4) Standard Operating Procedures & Documentation (Common Responsibilities)- Develop and standardize robot programming guidelines, teaching methods, and safety protocols for the plant.
- Create comprehensive documentation, including troubleshooting guides, maintenance manuals, and backup history logs.
- Maintain software and firmware version control across all robotic assets to ensure system security and stability.
- Conduct technical training and knowledge transfer for production operators and maintenance technicians.
- Document lessons learned from breakdowns and equipment setups to continuously improve standard robot specifications.
5) Etc.- Basically daytime work (8:00 ~ 17:00 including 1hr lunch time)
: In special condition (Production issue, Downtime and company policy) it can be adjusted and overtime
in weekend and holidays
Qualifications:Education and Experience:
- 4 Year university degree, or comparable background of work-related experience in Robot industry
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office - Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab etc.
- Proficient in Autocad and Analysis in Geometric tolerance
- Proficient in Robot programming (Yaskawa, Robotstar , Etc)
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, listening).
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Results oriented with strong problem solving/analytical skills
Legal Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age due to federal labor law requirements.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Supervisory Responsibility: None.
Working Conditions: - Manufacturing environment with exposure to mechanical, electrical, and moving equipment.
- May require occasional travel to vendor or customer locations.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) required as appropriate.
Physical Requirements:- Must be able to sit, stand, walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. for trade show materials or product demonstrations.
- Visual ability to read and interpret detailed data and documentation.
Remote Work: This position is not eligible for remote/hybrid work.
