Job Locations: Houston, TX or Pittsburgh, PA (
HM's Preference is for Pittsburgh) - 5 days a week onsite
Must-Have Experience5+ years of roadway permitting experience
Bachelor's degree
Travel: 60-75% (Sites mostly Texas, Ohio, northeast states and some local Pittsburgh projects)
Roadway/transportation experience
Experience working with local/state agencies and DOTs
Experience with roadway access, crossings, haul routes, or transportation logistics
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills
Comfortable with significant travel
PreferredBachelor's degree in civil engineering or Transportation Engineering
Experience with RUMA/RUA, ROE, and Railroad Crossing Agreements
Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) experience
Oversize/overweight permitting
Roadway construction and restoration
Contract administration
Experience coordinating with railroad representatives
Responsibilities/Expectations:- Develops and executes roadway/railroad permitting strategies for power innovation projects, aligning schedule, constructability, and compliance needs.
- Partners with Engineering Project Managers, Environmental Permit Managers, and consultants to identify and site public road crossings, driveway entrances, and access points that can be installed and maintained safely.
- Plans contractor haul routes and access logistics, incorporating weight-restricted roads/bridges and local roadway constraints.
- Interfaces with local and state agencies (towns, boroughs, townships, cities, counties, and state DOTs) to align traffic engineering, public safety, roadway conditions and maintenance.
Education/Years of Experience:Engineer III:- Required: Bachelor's degree and minimum eight (5) years' environmental experience
