This is an exciting opportunity to apply your design experience to some of the largest, most complex projects in Virginia.
This individual will perform a variety of engineering tasks relative to VDOT and various roadway design projects, with a focus on complex, interstate and urban arterial design within the alternative project delivery program. The diversity of responsibilities requires a flexible mindset and cooperative team-oriented attitude with progressively increasing design and management capabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Daily responsibilities may include project design, task management, client contact, and quality control.
- Development of roadway contract documents for all project delivery models, with a focus on advising clients on P3 delivery projects
- Preparing reports and studies
- Preparing for, attending, and participating in public meetings
- Directing others in performing designs for various roadway infrastructure projects based on AASHTO, VDOT and local municipality requirements; reviewing and managing designs prepared by others
- Coordinating with contractors, concessionaires, utility companies and government agencies
Basis Qualifications:- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in roadway design - preferably in Virginia, with a strong preference for 20+ years of experience.
- Professional Engineer's license in VA is preferred, will consider other states with the commitment of obtaining a Virginia PE within 6 months of starting employment
- MicroStation ORD experience; AutoCAD Civil 3D experience a plus
- Familiarity with AASHTO, VDOT and regional design standards, practices and policies
- Familiarity with P3 project delivery and alternative project delivery projects

$160,000 to $240,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus, with a target 5% of the employee's annualized salary.
