Context

We are looking for a Senior Professional to lead the Roadway Design Team at Systra Canada

Missions/Main Duties
  • Leading the design team in the preparation of designs, technical reports, contract plans, and documents required for the delivery of the Ministry of Transportation’s multi-year highway construction program.
  • Design corridor alignments, intersections, detours, and two-way conversion geometries.
  • Integrate utilities and stakeholder requirements into staging plans and ensure constructability.
  • Monitor overall work progress and technical performance on projects to ensure timelines and targets are met.
  • Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and oversight to engineers and technical staff on projects.
  • Ensure corporate and client QA/QC practices are implemented on all projects.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with clients, approval agencies, utility companies, and contractors.
  • Prepare proposals, project work plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Ensure adherence to design standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Mentor and develop junior design staff.

 

Profile/Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and P.Eng. designation required.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in roadway and highway design, and project management.
  • Proven ability to lead design teams and prepare technical reports and contract documents.
  • Proficient in highway design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation).
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC processes and design standards.
  • Experience preparing project budgets, schedules, and proposals.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior staff and manage client relationships.
  • Effective at coordinating with stakeholders, agencies, and contractors.
