Dewberry is seeking a Roadway Construction Inspector to work on projects in the greater NYC metropolitan area. To qualify, candidates must have prior construction inspection experience on NYCDDC and/or NYSTA projects and possess NICET II, III or IV Certification in Transportation/Highway and Bridge Construction or equivalent; DDC Water Main Training, NJSAT, ACI and Rutgers TCC certifications and knowledge of SiteManager are preferred. Additional requirements include excellent communications skills, ability to read and interpret plans and specifications, and ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations.

 

Dewberry offers a comprehensive and very competitive package of insurance programs to regular full-time employees and their eligible dependents the first of the month following their date of hire. The insurance package includes medical, dental, vision, and supplemental life. Responsibilities
  • Construction office and project administration
  • Document management and electronic processing of field reports, technical data, Pre-Activity meetings, and materials test reports.
  • Daily document control and management of contract documents
  • Prepare meeting agendas and minutes for distribution
  • Prepare and process RFI’s, submittals, progress pay applications, extra work billings, and contract change orders
  • Support CM project managers with coordination and scheduling of field activities.
  • Copy, edit, and proofread proposals
  • Develop marketing materials, proposal content, and qualification packages; create presentations for CM pursuit interviews
  • Assist with processing CM group invoicing
  • May coach and/or guide a subordinate group.
Required Skills & Required Experience
  • 6+ years prior construction inspection experience on NYCDDC or NYSTA projects.
  • NICET II, III or IV Certification in Transportation/Highway and Bridge Construction or equivalent preferred.
  • OSHA 10 hour certification
  • NJSAT, DDC Water Main Training, ACI and Rutgers TCC certifications and knowledge of SiteManager preferred.
  • Additional requirements include excellent communications skills, ability to read and interpret plans and specifications, and ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations.
  • Physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains.
  • Ability to repetitively stoop, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 25 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes, in addition to ability to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Salary Range

The projected hourly range for this position is $40.00-$65.00. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for NJ only.
