Job Overview

Fairview has an immediate opening for a full-time, salaried Registered Nurse Supervisor to oversee RN and support staff in gastroenterology at the University of Minnesota Health Clinics and Surgery Center, working 80 hours every two weeks with 80% of time at the Minneapolis Clinical Surgery Center and 20% at the Maple Grove MG Ambulatory Care Center, with clinics operating Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00-6:00 p.m.

The Supervisor Patient Care-Clinics is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and providing professional nursing care for patients in an ambulatory care setting.

Responsibilities
  • While following established standards and protocols, the Supervisor Patient Care-Clinics delivers care that is sensitive to the unique needs of the ages served by the clinic.
  • The Supervisor Patient Care-Clinics provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following established nursing standards and practices. As a member of the care team, the Supervisor Patient Care-Clinics supports quality patient and family-centered care principles through performing a variety of high level functions within a care team to support the needs of the healthcare team and patients/families.
  • The Supervisor Patient Care-Clinics will educate patients and the public about various medical conditions, maintain complete, timely and accurate clinical documentation for each patient and continually look for opportunities to improve processes and workflow.
  • Responsible for managing the operations of designated staff, both clinical and non-clinical. Oversight of front desk, check in, and non- clinical staff operations. Provides work flow direction and management that is consistent with achieving department and organizational objectives. Other duties include achieving coordination, consistency, and integration in the operation of the clinic site, assisting in the development and implementation of policies and procedures, assisting in strategic planning and budgeting, and leading and/or participating in improvement projects/teams


Required Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in Nursing
  • 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience
  • MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
