Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited RN Nursing program; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Must hold an active RN license with no disciplinary issues in Maryland.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Minimum 1 year of continuous experience in a long-term care facility is required; 2+ years preferred.
• IV insertion skills preferred, adding an edge for patient care proficiency.
• At least one year recent medical-surgical experience is required for specific assignments.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing care based on established standards and individual care plans.
• Function as Charge Nurse when assigned, managing nursing tasks by staff.
• Conduct resident assessments upon admission and follow unit standards.
• Ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance through clinical rounds.
• Maintain accurate clinical records per established policies and regulations.
• Transcribe physician orders accurately to patient charts and records.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with procedures and regulations.
• Hand off information during shift changes through walking rounds.
