DESCRIPTION

The Cardiovascular Rehabilitation and Wellness Center at UC San Diego Health will offer state of the art programs designed to help patients with heart disease recover faster and lead healthier lives. Located on the first floor of the Jacobs Medical Center, the center will offer medically supervised exercise; food and nutrition education, including cooking classes in our teaching kitchen and stress management and emotional support. Join our team of multi-disciplinary professionals who are dedicated to help our patients develop a successful heart-healthy plan in a safe and supportive environment.

The Clinical Nurse (RN) reports to the Manager of the Cardiac Rehabilitation & Wellness Program. The RN is responsible for direct patient care activities, assumes all responsibilities of an RN which are specific to promoting a healthier lifestyle through a modification of cardiac risk factors. Patient populations include Phase II - outpatient EKG telemetry monitored exercise, and Phase III - outpatient non-EKG telemetry supervised exercise, as well as pulmonary rehab intensive exercise and maintenance patients.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the state of California.
  • BLS/CPR and ACLS at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.
  • Must have at least two (2) years of recent emergency room, critical care or cardiac rehab RN experience.
  • Patient education experience (individual and group).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BSN/MSN
  • ACLS and/or ART
  • Emergency and or critical care RN experience
  • Background in exercise physiology or kinesiology.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.
  • Must be willing to attend meetings away from hospitals that are specific to the field of cardiac rehabilitation and participate in hospital community programs relative to cardiac rehabilitation.
  • Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.
Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $138,330 - $193,892 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $66.25 - $92.86
