Job Summary and Qualifications

The Quality and Risk Management Specialist is responsible for assisting with the quality and risk management functions of the hospital with a specific focus on patient advocacy and safety.

  • Assist in the diplomatic resolution of customer service issues from around the facility.
  • Assist with disclosure of reviews and/or events to patients and/or families in accordance with organizational policy and regulations.
  • Facilitate thorough and credible review of grievances and complaints that address both system and individual accountability.
  • Work with facility leaders and managers to endure thorough, credible and timely grievance and complaint management.
  • Assist with SEA/RCA process, Occurrence Reporting process, and the Clinical Safety Improvement Program initiatives.
  • Utilizing knowledge and research in the development of evidence-based initiatives.
  • Entering data into databases and programs.
  • Identifies and develops tools and techniques that simplify work, improve communication and make processes more reliable and consistent.
  • Pulling medical record needed for review.
  • Identifying and responding to variances in data.
  • Identifying and responding to variances in data.
  • Assists with regulatory compliance (CMS, Joint Commission).
  • Promotes a climate of high productivity and competence, job satisfaction and professional development.
  • Serves as a mentor and clinical role model and sets an example to implement change and new concepts.

What qualifications you will need:
