Overview

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse Palliative Care Specialist provides palliative and health care services to patients in collaboration with the palliative care physician service and the rest of the palliative care team.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE), or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred

Experience

  • 1 year of experience in Palliative Care, geriatric, end of life care, or related nursing specialty required

Licenses and Certifications

  • RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within the state of California required

  • BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required

  • CHPN - Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse preferred
