Job DescriptionUtilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.
ResponsibilitiesResponsible for maintaining the knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors. Carries out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. Accountable to the NURSE SVC SUPV 2 for overall work performance.
QualificationsRequired qualifications:- 2-3 years Adult Operating Room (OR) RN clinical experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience in scrubbing and circulating Neuro/ortho spine cases (anterior/posterior lumbar fusion, lateral lumbar fusion, anterior/posterior cervical fusion, robotic/ navigation, tumor resection, discectomy). Orthopedic complex revision arthroplasty, ortho trauma, and sports medicine
- Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations
- Proficiency in scrubbing surgical procedures
- Proficiency in circulating duties
- Excellent verbal and written skills. Must be well organized and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and work independently and under pressure.
- Basic computer skills and general PC knowledge
- Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations
Preferred qualifications:- BSN degree
- Specialty Certification - CNOR
Licenses/Certifications:- Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
- Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
Salary InformationThe final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
