About the Inpatient Float Pool Team The Inpatient Float Pool at UT Southwestern is a high-impact, system-level nursing team that ensures safe, responsive, and flexible staffing across both Clements University Hospital and Zale Lipshy Pavilion. Float Pool RNs and PCTs are cross-trained to support more than 30 inpatient units-including multiple critical care areas, med/surg, oncology, telemetry, progressive care, rehabilitation, and complex specialty services-adapting in real time to fluctuations in census, acuity, and staffing demands.
