- Delivers direct and indirect nursing care in strict adherence to the California Nurse Practice Act, individual scope of licensure, and Mercy Medical Center (MMC) policies and procedures
- Assesses patient needs, develops and executes problem-oriented care plans, and evaluates the ongoing effectiveness of all nursing interventions provided
- Provides immediate clinical direction and oversight to other members of the nursing care team to ensure the appropriate and consistent delivery of nursing services
- Maintains proficiency in the specific clinical skills and patient age populations required by the assigned unit, as defined by departmental orientation and competency checklists
- Recognizes that unit-specific competency checklists are incorporated by reference as an essential and formal component of this job description
Job Requirements
Required
- Registered Nurse: CA (RN:CA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)- CPR
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months
- Must be able to take call, float to other areas, and work on weekends as required
Preferred
- One year experience in an acute care setting, upon hire
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
