Job Summary

  • The Clinical Supervisor promotes clinical excellence by participating as an active member of the clinical team supporting direct clinical care as well as clinical leadership.
  • The role models the American Nurses Association (ANA) recommendations engaging in a systematic approach to care using the fundamental principles of critical thinking, client centered approaches to treatment, goal-oriented tasks, evidenced-based practice, recommendations, and nursing intuition.
  • The ANA supports the application and integration of holistic and scientific principles to uphold the foundations of compassionate quality-based care.
  • The Clinical Supervisor works to directly support practice-based initiatives, monitoring the adherence to best practice standards, and organizational policies and procedures.
  • A strong focus is connected to the ambulatory nursing practice dimensions: Leadership, Care Coordination, Staff Education, Best Practice and Triage. Practice leaders (such as practice manager, practice administrator, office manager, etc.) and clinical leaders (such as clinical nurse managers, etc.) demonstrate connected accountability to patients and families, colleagues, and each other.
  • The clinical operational partnership will support shared decision-making between stakeholders.
  • Dual accountability provides the structural empowerment for employees and customers, fostering improved outcomes and psychological empowerment.
  • Clinical leaders are positioned to leverage a mutually balanced relationship with practice leaders to drive desired change within the practice setting.
