OverviewThe Charge Nurse is responsible for patient care within a specific area in the nursing facility. This includes working with the Unit Manager in coordinating the services of all contributing disciplines and administering the nursing component of the care within the espoused nursing philosophy. The incumbent is guided by a comprehensive knowledge of current nursing theory and practice; knowledge of organization and departmental functions; policies, regulations, and procedures of the Nursing facility; knowledge and application of principles of leadership.
Qualifications:
- RN Associates Degree required,
- Bachelors Degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years experience long term/sub acute care preferred.
Special Requirements:
- General office equipment, personal computer, Nursing Home computer system.
- Experience in team based environment desirable. Previous leadership experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills essential.
