  • Serve as a coach and mentor, promoting accountability and professional development.
  • Uphold standards of nursing practice in alignment with the Nurse Practice Act and ANA Code of Ethics.
  • Advocate for patient dignity, autonomy, and safety.

Full Job Description
RN - Assistant Clinical Manager - Emergency Department
Full Time - 72 hrs. Biweekly
Four 9 hr. Shifts/ week between the hours of 11a-11:30p

As the Assistant Clinical Manager, you will support the Clinical Manager in overseeing daily ED operations, lead independently during off-shifts, and contribute directly to quality improvement, staff engagement, and patient-centered care delivery. You'll play a vital role in guiding the team toward achieving department and organizational goals-ensuring excellence in care and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction in the Emergency Department, particularly during off-shifts or in the absence of the Clinical Manager.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - Required


Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years acute care nursing experience required, 5 years preferred
  • Prior leadership experience preferred (e.g., educator, committee chair, charge/resource nurse)


Licensure & Certifications:

  • Current Maryland RN license or a Multi-State Compact RN license (with Maryland eligibility) - Required
  • BLS (CPR) - Required
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, or other unit-required certifications - Must be obtained within 6 months of start
  • Professional specialty certification - Preferred

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and advanced computer applications
