  • Title: Registered Nurse II
  • Location: Orange Coast Medical Center - Fountain Valley, CA
  • Department: Adult Oncology
  • Status: Full Time
  • Shift: Night (12hr AWS)
  • Pay Range*: $51.99/hr - $81.50/hr
  • Bonus: ($20,000 sign-on) signing bonus available to external hires new to MHS employment, contingent upon satisfaction of employment requirements.


Position Summary

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Orange Coast Medical Center. The employee shall support Orange Coast Medical Center's strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement/patient safety activities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job:

  1. Meets population specific competencies.
  2. Documentation is complete accurate and timely and reflects patients plan of care.
  3. Provides leadership and a clear direction to all members of the healthcare team to support the plan of care while maintaining the responsibility and accountability for the management of patient care.
  4. Provides for the psycho-social, spiritual, and cultural needs to patients, families, and significant others.
  5. Demonstrates continued development of clinical expertise and current knowledge of healthcare trends and education related to nursing practices.
  6. Participates in processes that improve standards of care and practice in the delivery of nursing service.
  7. Supports sustainment of the magnet culture.
  8. Possesses knowledge of job specific competencies in the infusion center or oncology unit.
  9. Other duties as assigned.


*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

  • One-year of Acute Care experience in Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, or Oncology nursing highly preferred.
  • Experience with peripheral and central venous access devices and infusion therapy preferred.


Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Current California RN License
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support Card required
  • Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Card preferred
  • EKG Certification
  • ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider required or must be obtained within one (1) year of hire.
    • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider cards are valid for up to three (3) months after expiration date.
