Purpose:
The Risk Sr. Business Analyst will play an important role in strengthening Athene’s derivatives and risk data capabilities by improving how data is governed, analyzed, reported, and used to support decision-making. This role will partner closely with Risk, Investments, Technology, and data teams to enhance the Risk data warehouse, improve reporting and data quality, and help modernize processes through AI and automation.

Accountabilities:
- Support the development and enhancement of the Risk data warehouse by translating business needs into clear requirements, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria in partnership with Technology teams.
- Partner with data engineering, governance, and control teams to improve data quality, lineage, consistency, and master and reference data across source systems, the data warehouse, and downstream reporting.
- Develop and enhance recurring and ad hoc derivatives and risk reports and dashboards, including exposure, notional, mark-to-market, collateral, and related analytics.
- Analyze trade, position, portfolio, and reference data to identify exceptions, trends, data quality issues, and opportunities to improve processes and reporting.
- Apply approved AI and automation tools to improve business analysis, documentation, query generation, data interpretation, and reporting while maintaining appropriate governance, risk, and control standards.
- Build effective partnerships across Risk, Investments, Technology, and other business areas while developing subject-matter expertise in Athene’s derivatives and risk data processes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 4+ years of experience preferred in risk, investments, trading, derivatives, financial services technology, business analysis, or relevant experience.
- Experience working with enterprise data, reporting, or business process integrations, including the ability to analyze issues, define requirements, and translate business needs into actionable solutions.
- Experience developing or supporting reports and dashboards using SQL, Power BI, Tableau, a data warehouse, or similar enterprise reporting tools.
- Knowledge of derivatives, investments, or risk processes; experience with Bloomberg, Finastra, Calypso, Murex, ePAM, or similar platforms is preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, organization, stakeholder management, adaptability, creativity, and AI fluency, with the ability to work independently, learn quickly, and move work forward with sound judgment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Information Technology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
$80,640.00 - $120,960.00 USD Annual
Annual Salary for this role is market competitive. Actual salary for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Depending on the role, a discretionary bonus plan or variable sales incentive may be included.
