Purpose:

Athene is redefining retirement services through innovation, disciplined growth, and differentiated access to capital. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Apollo Global Management, Athene benefits from the scale and capabilities of one of the world’s leading alternative asset managers, helping us develop innovative solutions and expand the ways we serve individuals and institutions.

The New Markets team focuses on identifying, developing, and implementing insurance and investment solutions adjacent to Athene’s existing businesses, including institutional retirement, stable value, and other emerging product opportunities.

This role will contribute to the development, implementation, underwriting, and ongoing administration of stable value and related institutional retirement products. You will apply product knowledge and analytical skills to execute important work, evaluate financial and operational issues, and collaborate with internal partners to translate product requirements into effective processes and solutions. The role offers an opportunity to deepen expertise in a growing area while contributing to innovation, process improvement, and Athene’s continued growth.

Accountabilities:

  • Execute key activities supporting stable value product implementation and ongoing administration, including product setup, documentation, calculations, data requirements, controls, and operational readiness.
  • Translate contractual, product, and business requirements into clear calculations, operating procedures, controls, and implementation steps, applying professional judgment within established practices.
  • Perform and validate financial and operational analyses, including rate calculations, cash flows, reconciliations, scenario testing, and other product-specific calculations; investigate issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Collaborate with product, operations, finance, legal, risk, technology, and other partners to resolve implementation and administrative issues and support successful delivery of product initiatives.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes and controls, including appropriate use of automation, data, and AI-enabled tools to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Build expertise in stable value and institutional retirement products, share knowledge with teammates, and demonstrate Athene’s BEAM values through collaboration, ownership, adaptability, curiosity, and a bias for action.

  • Experience analyzing financial or insurance products and resolving issues of moderate scope using sound judgment, attention to detail, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to interpret product structures, contracts, and business requirements and translate them into accurate calculations, processes, controls, and implementation requirements; stable value experience is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and project-management skills, with the ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience appropriately using data, programming, automation, or AI-enabled tools to support analysis, improve processes, or increase efficiency.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
