Full Job Description
The Disaster Prevention Manager Coordinates Fire safety shifts and enforces current fire safety rules. They maintain contact with the relevant authorities, perform fire safety reports, declarations and manage the fire related permissions. As a Team leader, they must have experience with the entire process of fire safety as well as managing team members. The Disaster Prevention Manager will focus on improving safety by anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and controlling fire hazards in the workplace. They will evaluate workplace compliance with regard to state and federal fire related regulations and standards. The Disaster Prevention Manager will enforce adherence to laws and regulations. The Disaster Prevention Manager is primarily responsible for guiding and managing other fire safety specialists within the field and evaluating their performance. They should possess excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and technical skills within their field. They will create and present reports to management. The Disaster Prevention Manager will also be responsible for other projects in the Environmental Health and Safety group. Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute all emergency trainings.
  • Set fire safety part KPIs and goals and manage the progress of team members' work to achieve KPIs.
  • Conduct interviews and evaluations for team members' recruitment and consult with HR to expedite process in a timely manner
  • Manage team members to perform tasks quickly through training.
  • Identify problems in team members' work and troubleshoot challenges
  • When an emergency issue occurs, report it and work together with relevant personnel to resolve the issue
  • Report to the Group Leader on a regular basis(Weekly/Monthly) on team members' work and immediately report any emergencies.
  • Checking the schedules and the conditions for team members' work including any registration and authorization procedures.
  • Executing tasks based on the Performance Management System, identifying projects and providing feedback.
  • Keeping job descriptions up to date.
  • Improving and motivating team members
  • Tracking and improving the satisfaction level of team members.
  • All employees are required to follow the labor, fire, and environmental safety regulations and procedures of the company.
  • Keeping the work area clean and well organized, following safety rules on work safety tools, and proper usage of personal safety equipment.
  • Tracking and maintaining the necessary health checks for being fit to work.
  • Establish work-related regulations and standards and keep them up to date
  • Regularly inspect, evaluate, and improve risks related to fire in the plant

  • Strong knowledge of experience working with NFPA and state/local regulations and requirements

  • High level of written and verbal communication
  • Self-motivated: energetic, enjoys working at quick pace


  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in similar position, with strong foundation in project management.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various level of employees within all areas of the organization including hourly employees to Senior Leadership
  • Ability to build effective cross functional relationships internally and externally
  • Demonstrated technical problem-solving ability
  • Goal oriented self-starter with ability to lead teams
  • Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work overtime as required

Preferred Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry/chemical engineering, Fire safety and relevant experience.
  • Bilingual English / Korean
  • Extensive knowledge in Data Analytics utilizing MS Excel, MS Access or other database applications
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, presentation.
  • Critical thinking and an analytical mindset.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and effectiveness in accomplishing goal.
