Job Description

The Impact you will have in this role:

DTCC, a technology-propelled clearinghouse at the forefront of capital market infrastructure innovation, is seeking a strategic and hands-on Risk Manager to lead risk initiatives related to digital assets and tokenized markets. This role will support the safe and controlled expansion of our digital clearing and settlement capabilities-helping to shape the next generation of financial infrastructure. You will work cross-functionally to build and implement risk frameworks aligned with regulatory standards, member protection, and enterprise risk tolerance, while enabling innovation in areas such as tokenized asset clearing, crypto-collateral acceptance, and distributed ledger-based settlement solutions.

Your Primary Responsibilities:
  • Identification and assessment of risks for digital asset clearing initiatives-including new product offerings, digital custody models, smart contract-based workflows, and blockchain settlement rails.
  • Contribute to fit-for-purpose risk frameworks for digital asset products and services across credit, liquidity, operational, cyber, and model risk.
  • Support the onboarding of novel participants (e.g., digital asset custodians, decentralized platforms) and assess their risk to the clearing ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with technology, legal, compliance, operations, and product teams to ensure that risk considerations are embedded throughout development and execution.
  • Develop and maintain key risk indicators (KRIs), limits, and reporting for digital asset exposures, blockchain platform dependencies, and third-party technology providers.
  • Support regulatory engagement and internal/external audits related to digital asset risk oversight, including under CFTC, SEC, and other applicable regulatory frameworks.
  • Contribute to scenario analysis and recovery/wind-down planning involving digital asset disruptions, cyber events, or collateral shortfalls.
  • Stay informed on evolving market structure, standards (e.g., ISO 20022, smart contract standards), and global regulatory trends in tokenized asset clearing.
  • Mitigates risk by following established procedures, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.

**NOTE: The Primary Responsibilities of this role are not limited to the details above. **

Qualifications:
  • 5 years of relevant experience in financial risk management, clearing operations, fintech infrastructure, or crypto asset markets.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience; master's or professional certification (e.g. FRM, CISA, CAMS, blockchain certifications) a plus.

Talents Needed for Success:
  • Deep understanding of clearinghouse risk frameworks (e.g., CCP credit and liquidity risk models, default management, margin methodologies) and how they apply to digital assets.
  • Familiarity with blockchain protocols, collateral management, digital custody, tokenized securities, and stablecoin mechanics.
  • Demonstrated ability to bridge innovation and risk management, especially in a regulated, member-focused environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience addressing and presenting to committees, auditors, or regulators.

The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations. Actual salary is determined based on the role, location, individual experience, skills, and other considerations.
