Job Description

Verisk's Catastrophe and Risk Solutions (CRS) team provides risk modeling software and consulting services to insurers, reinsurers, brokers, and other financial intermediaries. We're looking for a Risk Consultant or Risk Analyst to join our Consulting and Client Service Team, based in Boston, MA.

In this role, you will build client relationships based on your knowledge of Verisk's products, helping clients get the most out of their catastrophe modeling workflow. You will support a range of client-facing project work, from routine questions to multi-month consulting engagements.

You will interpret and analyze data using Verisk's Touchstone, TouchstoneRe, and Synergy Studio software, and provide recommendations to internal and external stakeholders on how to apply that data to their business problems. You will lead, manage, and execute projects for clients and internal stakeholders, working with other internal teams to deliver projects efficiently and to a high standard of quality.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and client deadlines at once will be important assets in this role.

Responsibilities

Perform a wide range of risk analyses in support of consulting projects and internal initiatives

Respond to client questions in a timely manner and help bring them to a speedy and accurate resolution by working collaboratively with our internal teams

Communicate directly with clients to develop project timelines and manage deliverable expectations

Employ project management best practices when performing consulting studies and other mid- to large-scale projects

Support model and product change management efforts when model updates or new features are introduced in our software

Provide input to internal teams regarding the evolution of our products based on client feedback and your usage of our products. Remain engaged with the internal teams through feature design, development and release

Act as a connector across the CRS vertical and with other groups within Verisk, sharing context, surfacing cross-team needs, and helping align work across groups

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree that included quantitative courses such as mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, business or computer science

Experience of two or more years in a catastrophe modeling or actuarial support role is preferred

Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Powerpoint, Word and Excel is essential. Working knowledge or experience with Power Query or Power BI is also preferred.

Experience with SQL Server Management Studio or other database management or querying software is preferred

Experience with Claude, Microsoft Copilot or other AI tools is preferred
