Contact:

The Department of Revenue is seeking a Revenue Management Supervisor in the Income, Sales, and Excise Tax Division to lead the exploration of new technology tools that support our work. This position can be headquartered at the following office locations: Appleton, Eau Claire, Green Bay, Madison, Milwaukee, or Wausau, WI.

Position Summary

This supervisor position will lead, mentor, and direct the Tax Technology Advancement Lab, a team of auditors and an IS Business Analyst who will develop processes for enhancing auditing using new technology tools. This position will supervise staff whose responsibility it is to partner with technology systems, business systems, and both internal and external stakeholder experts. The work will include the development of business requirements, understanding of auditing practices and procedures, and formulation of reports and analysis of technology and corresponding policy/procedure recommendations. Auditors working in this unit must utilize their knowledge of audit processes to ensure new technologies meet the needs of DOR and must complete their work using new processes or technologies. As such, this supervisor must be forward-thinking in technology, and skilled in overseeing and guiding audit work, including resolving complex or disputed audit issues and actively participating in and engaging unit staff in other activities toward organizational goals.

This position will manage, plan, develop, implement, administer, monitor and evaluate a comprehensive statewide auditing program while utilizing, integrating, and evaluating technology tools to enhance existing auditing procedures and practices. This position supervises the Tax Technology Advancement Lab and independently oversees the team's use, feedback, and the integration of technology tools utilized in auditing as they audit taxpayers' Wisconsin tax liabilities. Some or all auditors supervised are responsible for full-scope, detailed examinations of taxpayer books and records. The position may also supervise staff involved in providing customer service activities in district offices.

Work is performed under the general direction of the Assistant Division Administrator.

Salary Information

The starting pay rate for these positions is between $48.00 - $54.48 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

The classification of this position is Revenue Management Supervisor, which is in Pay Schedule 81, Pay Range 02. Pay will be set in accordance with the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan in effect at the time of hire. Starting pay for current state employees may vary based on applicable provisions in the Compensation Plan. For current employees transferring or promoting into the role, the current compensation plan allows for an increase up to the $54.48 hour rate or up to 6 WRPS steps from the current pay rate.

Job Details

Background Checks: Due to the nature of this position, final candidates will be subject to criminal background, fingerprint, and tax compliance checks.

I-9 Requirements: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship) at the time of appointment. The Department of Revenue does not sponsor work or student visas and is not an eligible OPT employer for those with F1 visas. DOR participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with Form I-9 information for all new employees to confirm authorization to work in the U.S.

Probationary Period: A two-year Career Executive trial period may be required.

Remote Work/Telework: This position is eligible for remote work/telework up to 60%. After completion of probation, telework may gradually increase up to 60% based on employee performance and work unit needs. Remote work is intended to be performed primarily in the State of Wisconsin and is subject to change based on business needs.

Travel: This position requires occasional in-state travel.

Work Schedule: This position works Monday - Friday during daytime hours.
