Job Description:

Job Purpose

The purpose of the Revenue Cycle Director is to manage accounting functions and preparation of reports and statistics, detailing financial results. This person also establishes and maintains accounting practices to ensure accurate and reliable data necessary for business operations. The Revenue Cycle Director also supervises professional and/or clerical accounting employees.

Essential Job Functions

  • Confer with subordinate supervisory personnel to obtain data, such as status of on-going work and projected completion dates.
  • Plan activities, work projects, and assign supervisory personnel responsibility for carrying out and completing specific projects and duties.
  • Coordinate activities of staff in order to provide designated functions or services with minimum delay and optimum efficiency and accuracy.
  • Inform supervisory personnel of changes or interpretations of policies or procedures.
  • Conduct staff meetings for dissemination of pertinent information.
  • Train and evaluate performance of supervisory personnel and review performance reports prepared on staff.
  • Prepare reports on activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Working conditions

This position works in the business office of a busy outpatient oncology/hematology/radiation/urology clinic and has no direct contact with patients.

Physical requirements

This position requires that the employee sit in front of a computer for up to two-thirds of the day. This person will also need to stand and walk in order to confer with co-workers and employees.
