The Mandarin Oriental, Boston is looking for a Revenue and Reservations Manager to join our team.

Situated in the heart of the Back Bay overlooking Boylston Street, Mandarin Oriental, Boston will introduce a stunning new façade to one of the most desirable addresses in Boston. Our luxurious 136 guest rooms and 12 suites will set the standard for spa & wellness, combining classic Bostonian residential elegance with refined hints of our Oriental heritage. Our Reservations will introduce Boston to world-acclaimed and unique Mandarin Oriental therapies.

About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental, Boston within the Reservations Department, the Revenue and Reservations Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership, financial performance, and operational execution of all Revenue and Reservations functions. This role serves as a key commercial and operational partner, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while driving revenue growth, market awareness, and brand differentiation.

The Revenue and Reservations Manager reports to the Director of Commercial Strategy.

The Reservations Coordinator and Reservations Agents report to the Revenue and Reservations Manager.

As Revenue and Reservations Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Maximize room revenue and occupancy by effectively controlling rates and availability
  • Update distribution channels for proper rate and room availability as directed by the Director of Commercial Strategy
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of rate codes across systems
  • Complete follow through of no-show and cancellation charges
  • Communicate and collaborate daily with Guest Relations and Front of House departments
  • Ensure that Guest History is updated and acted upon accordingly
  • Oversee duties and responsibilities of Reservations colleagues and ensure that work processes are in a logical order
  • Ensure that Legendary Quality Standards and hotel policies and procedures are properly understood and followed through
  • Perform certain aspects of colleague training functions, including hiring, performance reviews, coaching, training, disciplinary actions, etc
  • Analyses competitive sets, price positioning, seasonality, mix and displacement
  • Provide data to the team for analysis and evaluation of business segments, accounts, market segment mix, room type demand, channel production and geographical mix, recognising trends and patterns
  • Prepare Commercial Strategy Meeting agenda, supporting documentation, and minutes weekly
  • Prepare month-end critiques, discuss results, and communicate to Regional/Corporate Revenue Management
  • Effectively use revenue management systems and approved tools to determine, implement, manage and control accurate and agreed revenue management strategies
  • Participate in required financial audits; maintain financial records and follow hotel policies to maintain audit standards
  • Other duties as assigned by management


As Revenue and Reservations Manager, we expect from you:
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Finance, Revenue, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role; luxury hospitality strongly preferred
  • Experience with financial reporting, and revenue generation strategies
  • Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language


Preferred
  • Experience in Infor/HMS, Delphi, IDeaS, SynXis, Lighthouse, Otelier, and CoSTR
  • Multilingual

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $88,000 to $90,000 annually.
