Full Job Description
Senior Analyst - Revenue Accounting Operations

About the Role

As a senior member of the North America Finance team, this individual will serve as a subject matter expert within Revenue Accounting Operations, providing guidance on order-to-cash processes, contract review, and revenue recognition for our SaaS business. This role partners closely with Revenue Accounting, Controllership, Sales, and Service Delivery to ensure orders and contracts are accurately reflected in our financial systems and comply with company policy and US GAAP (ASC 606). The Senior Analyst will also mentor junior analysts, lead process improvement initiatives, and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close and audit activities.

What You'll Do:
  • Operate as a strategic business partner to the Sales organization to facilitate accurate, timely order approval.
  • Review order-related documentation (contracts, customer purchase orders, professional services proposals, etc.) in a timely manner to ensure all required documentation is accurate, compliant with Mimecast policies and reflected properly within our financial systems.
  • Perform revenue Accounting close activities during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, including preparation of and support for reconciliations, schedules, and revenue reporting.
  • Lead resolution of complex, cross-functional discrepancies involving Sales, Deal Desk, and Service Delivery, including root-cause analysis and scalable solutions.
  • Manage and prioritize workload across NetSuite and Salesforce, balancing individual casework with oversight responsibilities.
  • Contribute to process and control improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of the revenue cycle.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and review of work products for junior analysts on the team.
  • Support internal and external audit requests, including preparation of supporting documentation and walkthroughs of process and controls.
  • Respond to and resolve escalated Accounts Receivable inquiries regarding invoices, billing, and account updates.
  • Contribute to and help maintain policy and procedure documentation for revenue, order management, and month-end close processes.
  • Apply AI and agentic tooling to core revenue workflows - contract abstraction and review, account reconciliations, audit and PBC preparation, and accounting research.
  • Build AI fluency across the Revenue Accounting Operations team - defining what good looks like, what is safe, and what still requires professional judgment.

What You Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
  • 5 years of experience in Revenue Accounting Operations, Order Management, or a comparable accounting/finance role.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP, with specific experience applying ASC 606 revenue recognition principles.
  • NetSuite, Salesforce, or comparable ERP/CRM systems experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial/reporting analysis.
  • Experience supporting SOX compliance, internal controls, or internal/external audits preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives and mentor or provide technical guidance to junior team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment in navigating complex or ambiguous accounting scenarios.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present analysis and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple complex priorities, and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated success partnering cross-functionally.
  • Proactive application of AI to all possible scenarios where efficiency or effectiveness can be optimized.
