About the role*Open to hiring remote across the US - we also have offices in NYC, San Francisco, and Seattle
We're seeking a detail-oriented Revenue Accountant to own and scale Runway's revenue accounting function, with broad ownership across all of revenue recognition (including B2B and B2C revenue), invoicing, collections, accounts receivable, and deferred revenue.
What you'll do- Own the revenue close by preparing journal entries, accounts receivable and deferred revenue reconciliations, AR Aging, and flux analyses for all revenue related accounts
- Own full-cycle Order-to-Cash process , including invoicing, cash application, aging, and collections and drive timely resolution of overdue accounts and billing disputes
- Identify and lead process improvements across revenue workflows, leveraging AI to modernize how we do accounting
- Build revenue recognition workbooks for new products and pricing models as they launch
- Partner with Sales, Post Sales, FP&A and Legal to resolve revenue and billing questions, and validate order forms against revenue treatment
- Implement controls over our revenue process and be a key point of contact for external audit requests
What you'll need- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA a plus.
- 3+ years of progressive revenue accounting experience, with ASC 606 experience in a SaaS or technology environment.
- Big 4 or public accounting experience
- Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, or comparable ERP/CRM systems; advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills
- Strong understanding of internal controls and audit coordination
- Detail-oriented self-starter who takes initiative, thrives in ambiguity, and is always looking to improve the process
