Full Job Description
As a Project Manager, you'll lead teams responsible for the successful planning, coordination, and implementation of strategic projects that drive organizational goals and business outcomes. You'll partner across a matrixed organization to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining a strong focus on stakeholder engagement and business value. You will serve as a trusted advisor and project leader, leveraging your consultative skills, analytical mindset, and leadership capabilities to manage project risks, drive innovation, and ensure successful execution of initiatives that support ADP's strategic objectives. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Responsibilities What you can expect on a typical day: - Lead all phases of the project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure. - Direct the day-to-day activities of project teams within a matrixed organization, ensuring alignment with project objectives and business priorities. - Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, resources, and deliverables to drive successful project outcomes. - Collaborate with cross-functional business partners to coordinate activities and remove barriers to project success. - Communicate project status, risks, issues, and milestones to stakeholders and leadership throughout the project lifecycle. - Proactively identify, assess, mitigate, and escalate risks and issues as needed. - Apply strong consultative and problem-solving skills to guide decision-making and deliver effective business solutions. - Tailor project management approaches and methodologies to meet the unique needs of individual initiatives. - Analyze project performance, including business cases, return on investment (ROI), and post-project outcomes. - Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and project management best practices across projects and teams. - Lead high-complexity projects that have significant business impact and visibility. - Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and results-oriented execution. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: To Succeed in This Role - Minimum of 5 years of project management experience. - Proven experience managing medium-to-large cross-functional and/or multi-year projects. - Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and tools. - Ability to successfully manage competing priorities and multiple project workstreams. - Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels. - Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence without authority, and drive project success within a matrixed environment. - Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced business environment. - Strong client-service orientation and commitment to achieving results. A college degree is great, but what's more important is having the skills needed to be successful in this role. Other acceptable experiences could include: - Relevant project management, business operations, implementation, or consulting experience, OR - Military experience where skills such as leadership, adaptability, organization, problem-solving, and execution have contributed to operational success. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates who have the following: - PMP or equivalent professional project management certification - Knowledge of Retirement 401(k) plans - Advanced knowledge of functional area and related company products - Ability to effectively communicate with multiple functions/organizations to identify and negotiate required resources - Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation and facilitation skills - Ability to manage across formal organizational lines - Strong team leadership and ability to delegate responsibility to all levels of the project team and hold team accountable for deliverables - Expertise with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Planner or Smartsheets. - Commitment to being accountable for results - Ability to interface with and present to all levels of the organization - Proven track record of building relationships both internally and externally - Strong focus on client service - Ability to think independently and make decisions - Strong interpersonal skills - Collaborative approach to work #LI-AJ1 #LI-Hybrid
