Why is this Respiratory Therapist role different

At Apria, you'll experience a unique blend of clinical autonomy, meaningful patient interaction, and supportive team collaboration. This role offers a mix of time in the branch and time in the field, developing both patient-facing clinical skills and strong workflow independence.

You'll provide essential respiratory care, equipment setup, patient education, and clinical support, playing a key role in ensuring safe transitions from hospital to home.

Key highlights
  • Hours: 9:00 AM-5:30 PM ~ flexibility if needed. Overtime as needed
  • Check in at the branch daily; flexibility based on patient needs and hospital discharges
  • Hybrid-style role: ~60% in the branch, ~40% in the field

Salary range
  • $40.00-$46.00 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education and location


On-Call transparency
  • Rotation is area-based, not branch-based
  • Coverage area includes Spokane, WA and surrounding areas (including Colville, WA; and Coeur d'Alene, ID)
  • Rotation frequency: Once every 3-5 weeks, Monday-Sunday
  • Weekend call-outs are rare and generally involve telehealth support
  • Mileage and time start from home during on-call rotation
  • Personal vehicle required (mileage reimbursed)


What you'll do
  • Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow-ups
  • Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs
  • Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams
  • Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop
  • Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation
  • Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition
  • Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs
  • Performs other duties as required


What we look for
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active Washington RT license
  • Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 - 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation


Education
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program


Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations
  • Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy
  • Hold a current CPR Certification
  • Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
