Young Adult Institute, Inc. (YAI) is a network of agencies offering people with intellectual and developmental disabilities a comprehensive range of services across the lifespan. YAI supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving the fullest life possible by creating new opportunities for living, loving, working, and learning. The organization was founded in 1957 by a group of parents who wanted to ensure that their children with developmental disabilities had the same opportunities as other children. Today, YAI is one of the largest non-profit organizations in the United States providing services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
