Salary Range: $47.00 to $52.00 hourly
Position OverviewThe Respiratory Therapist evaluates, treats, and cares for patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary disorders under the direction of the Respiratory Department Head. This role is responsible for administering respiratory therapy treatments, performing diagnostic procedures, responding to emergency situations, and ensuring safe, ethical, and effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients and recommend appropriate respiratory therapy treatments.
- Administer physician-ordered respiratory therapy treatments and procedures.
- Perform respiratory treatments including:
- IPPB therapy
- Aerosol therapy
- Chest physical therapy
- Incentive spirometry
- Sputum inductions
- Conduct pulmonary and cardiac diagnostic testing.
- Respond to emergency "Code Blue" situations and assist with airway management and CPR.
- Supervise and provide guidance to Respiratory Therapy Technicians.
- Accurately document patient care in a timely and professional manner.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Deliver patient-centered care with professionalism, compassion, and clinical excellence.
QualificationsRequired:- Associate degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License.
- Current CPR/BLS Certification.
Preferred:- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience.
- Experience in:
- Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF)
- Long-Term Care (LTC)
- Senior Care settings
