Department/Unit/Program Description

Respiratory Care Practitioners work in all areas of the Hospital, including the Operating Room, Medical and Surgical Units, and Intensive Care. They have expertise in life support systems, anesthetic machines, and the administering of medications for breathing disorders.

At Ross Memorial, we do Pulmonary Function Testing, as well as assessments to determine the need for patients to have home oxygen units.

Position Summary

The hospital is currently seeking a Permanent Full Time Respiratory Therapist to join their team.

Effective Date: As Soon As Possible

Essential Qualifications
• Graduate of accredited school of Respiratory Therapy
• Member in good standing with College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario
• Current BCLS, NRP, on hire
• Knowledge of computer applications, i.e. Epic, Lab System
• Demonstrated ability to deal effectively and co-operatively with all levels of hospital staff, patients, and families
• Demonstrated high level communication, organizational and time management skills
• Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in an active treatment hospital Respiratory Department including Diagnostics

Hours of Work

Must be available to work twelve (12) hour day and night shifts, Monday to Sunday, with weekend rotation. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per OPSEU Collective Agreement.
