Position Overview
Hawkesbury General Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Therapist whose versatility and ability to prioritize are matched only by their outstanding patient-centered approach and compassion.
THE CHALLENGES AWAITING YOU
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for performing pulmonary function diagnostic testing in accordance with professional standards and established protocols, ensuring the quality of results obtained, and contributing to the assessment of respiratory function in ambulatory patients.
On a daily basis, you will be responsible for:
- Performing respiratory diagnostic test such as pulmonary function tests (PFTs), bronchial challenges, six-minute walk tests, home oxygen assessments and other related assessments.
- Providing pulmonary education, rehabilitation, and support to help patients become more independent in managing their condition and improving their quality of life.
- Acting as a smoking cessation counselor.
- Collaborating with Respirologists who interpret testing results.
- Ensuring quality control and maintenance of diagnostic equipment.
- Promoting health and wellness initiatives.

What we are looking for
- General Certificate of Registration from the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO), with no conditions or restrictions.
- Relevant experience in a pulmonary function laboratory
- Demonstrated experience performing comprehensive pulmonary function testing.
- Current BCLS (or willingness to obtain them through our paid in-house training program).
- Ability to communicate effectively in both English and French.
