Job SummaryResponsible for performing pulmonary function tests on patients. This includes setting up and operating pulmonary function testing equipment, explaining the tests to patients, and collecting and analyzing data. The Pulmonary Function Technician will also be responsible for maintaining the pulmonary function testing equipment and ordering supplies
This position is part of the 1199SEIU Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.
This position reports to the Clinical Manager, Respiratory Care and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
QualificationsQualifications: - Associate's degree in respiratory care required
- Respiratory Therapist license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Experience with pulmonary function testing equipment 1 year preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to explain pulmonary function tests to patients.
- Ability to collect and analyze data from pulmonary function tests.
- Ability to maintain pulmonary function testing equipment.
