Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians with respiratory therapy procedures
  • Administer respiratory therapy as ordered by physicians
  • Assess patients to determine the best treatment method
  • Document treatment, equipment maintenance, and quality control
  • Communicate treatment details to patients and families
  • Monitor patient responses to therapy, especially in pediatrics and neonates
  • Provide education to patients and staff

Full Job Description
Hourly Pay Range:
$33.16 - $49.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

Sign on bonus $20,000 for a 2 year commitment!
  • Position: Respiratory Therapist
  • Location: Evanston Hospital, Evaston, IL
  • Full Time: 36 hours per week
  • Shift: Nights 7:00pm -7:30am
  • Travel: No


What you will need:
  • License: Licensed by the State of Illinois as a Respiratory Care Practitioner required
  • Education: Graduate of an CoARC approved school of respiratory therapy required
  • Certification: CPR (BLS)


What you will do:
  • Assists Physicians, as requested with Respiratory Therapy procedures
  • Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures
  • Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment
  • Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians
  • Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner
  • Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients
  • Provide patient and staff education
