Why is this Respiratory Therapist role different

This role is heavily focused on clinic-based respiratory care, offering a stable office environment while still providing opportunities for patient interaction and field support. You'll primarily support patients in the Colorado Springs market, with occasional coverage for the Pueblo area when needed. The position is ideal for an RT who enjoys patient education, equipment management, and building strong patient relationships while maintaining a predictable daytime schedule.

Key highlights
  • Work Arrangement: On-site; primarily clinic-based activities.
  • Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
  • Coverage area includes Colorado Springs and occasional support for Pueblo.
  • Travel up to approximately 1.5 hours as needed.
  • Mix of in-office patient care, equipment setups, and clinical education.


Salary range
  • $37.00 - $42.00 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education, and location


On-Call transparency
  • Shared on-call rotation with other Respiratory Therapists
  • Covers Colorado Springs from Tuesday through Thursday on a rotating basis
  • On-call responsibilities are shared across the clinical team to support patient needs


What you'll do
  • Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow-ups
  • Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs
  • Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams
  • Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop
  • Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation
  • Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition
  • Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs
  • Performs other duties as required


What we look for
  • Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active CO RT license.
  • Preference for candidates with hospital-based RT experience
  • Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 - 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation


Education
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program


Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations
  • Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy
  • Hold a current CPR Certification
  • Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
