Our Department of Respiratory Therapy is seeking to hire a full-time Respiratory Care Supervisor II. The department provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient respiratory care services across the health system. The department is committed to delivering evidence based, patient centered care for patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions.
You will provide operational and clinical leadership for the department, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and effective department operations. This position supervises staff, coordinates daily workflow and staffing, supports performance management, and services as a clinical resource for care services across the health system. Key responsibilities:
- Oversee daily respiratory therapy operations, staffing, and workflow
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate respiratory therapy staff
- Serve as a clinical and technical resource while providing direct patient care as needed
- Support quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance, and department standards
- Participate in equipment evaluations, product implementation, staff education, and evidence-based practice initiatives
Salary range: $109,900/yr - $243,900/yr

Bachelors degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from NBRC
Respiratory Therapy License from the Board of California
Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certificate (PALSs) (preferred)
Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certificate (NRP) (preferred)
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Minimum 5 years of experience working as Respiratory Therapist
Minimum 2 years of experience as a manager/supervisor (preferred)
Deep understanding of the clinical field and related equipment
Ability to lead staff, coordinate schedules, and manage departmental operations
Skill in assessing patient needs, prioritizing interventions, and providing guidance to staff
Effectively communicate with physicians, nurses, patients, and families
Ability to educate staff on new techniques, equipment, and policies
Resolving staffing, equipment, or patient care issues effectively
