Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse (RN) on our Float/Flex Team, you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery while presenting a positive attitude and being reliable, Every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans.   • Adheres to the departments and hospitals policies and procedures, including safety, risk management and regulatory standards. Keeps abreast of trends, developments and regulatory requirements impacting matters within designated scope of responsibility.
  • Administers, oversees and documents the administration of medications (e.g., topically, orally, intramuscularly, subcutaneously and intravenously) as ordered by the healthcare practitioner and in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Assesses patient to include physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral/emotional, developmental and spiritual needs. Gathers data relevant for patient care. Implements appropriate patient interventions and evaluates outcomes. Plans care appropriately based on needs identified during initial and on-going assessments. Provides holistic, comprehensive, and professional nursing care to patient within the scope of practice. Implements appropriate patient interventions and evaluates outcomes. Prepares patient for discharge and assists with coordinating post discharge needs.
  • Cultural Sensitivity and Competence: Demonstrates proper use of available communication tools/materials for effective communication and understands how the culture(s) of patient populations can affect communication, collaboration and the provision of care, treatment and services. Patient Populations Served: Demonstrates knowledge and proper skills associated with the departments defined specific populations served.
  • Documents care delivered and patient status utilizing the nursing process in accordance with FHS standards of care, for example, changes in patient condition, patient responses to intervention and reassessments of pertinent findings. Receives and assures appropriateness, accuracy, timeliness and execution of physician orders.
  • Identifies opportunities for, and participates in, performance/quality improvement activities to improve clinical outcomes, healthcare delivery systems and address patient safety/satisfaction and cost containment.
Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. , upon hire and
  • Previous E.D. experience current within the last 2 years , upon hire or
  • Critical care experience, current within the last 2 years , upon hire or
  • New graduate or RNs without E.D. or Critical Care experience AND successful completion of the Med-Surg residency program, additional E.D. residency courses and additional Critical Care residency courses., upon hire and
  • Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 Days and

Preferred

  • Bachelors Of Science Nursing and 1-3 years One year of related work experience in an acute care setting, upon hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 120 Days or
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course, within 120 Days and
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course, within 120 Days and
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program, within 120 Days and
  • Certified Emergency Nurse, within 120 Days and
  • Critical RN Adult/Neonatal/Pediatric/Acute, within 120 Days and
  • Certified Neuroscience RN, within 120 Days
