If this sounds like you, talk to us about joining our Construction Management team as a Resident Engineer.

Carollo Engineers is an environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are seeking a Full-time Resident Engineer for our New York and New Jersey operations. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, achievement-oriented individual who can become a leader and accept increasing levels of design support and management responsibilities to fulfill our commitment in delivering client success on every construction project we undertake. You will work with and be mentored by nationally recognized, senior technical and project management staff. The ideal candidate should have strong verbal and written communication skills, be highly organized and capable of working in a diverse team environment and handling multiple tasks with competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret contract drawings, shop drawings, contract specifications
  • Implement project baseline schedule
  • Develop Detailed Estimate Breakdowns
  • Generate RFIs
  • Prepare progress meeting agenda and minutes
  • Conduct Progress Meetings and Issues and Tasks Meetings.
  • Conduct daily coordination meetings.
  • Identify Potential Change Orders, Negotiate Change Orders.
  • Develop Engineers Estimate.
  • Develop cost proposal for Change Orders.
  • Inspector Daily Reports
  • Payments
  • Vet Subcontractors.
  • Review shop drawings, EH&S plans, JHAs, EVAP, Construction Waste Management Plans.
  • Proficient in E- Builder, PM software, AutoCAD, SCADA Systems and MS Office
  • Reviews construction schedules for compliance with contract documents
  • Reviews of contractor schedule of values and payment applications
  • Overseas timely workflow of construction documentation (submittals, RFIs, clarifications, etc.)
  • Responsible for working as a team with the contractor, client, field team and designer
  • Report writing
  • Mentors and trains less experienced construction/field engineers
  • Involved with the team that prepares proposals and conducts interviews
  • Cultivates client relationships and helps pursue new opportunities
  • Some short-term travel may be required


Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of experience including a lead role in $20 million or greater construction value water/wastewater projects
  • Experience focused in W/WW infrastructure and treatment plant projects
  • Professional Engineer registration in New York required
  • Completion of OSHA 10-hour safety course, permit required confined space training, 4 hr. scaffolding, fall protection, call before you dig 811.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors and lead engineer/project team, and deliver high quality services within budget and schedule constraints
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to learn quickly and be extremely organized
  • Working knowledge of construction management software such as e-Builder, Prolog, Bentley EADOC, Procore, BIM 360, etc.
  • Working knowledge of construction scheduling software including Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
  • Working knowledge and understanding of construction methods, standards, specifications and plans
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint


Preferred Qualifications

  • NYCDEP Construction Management experience preferred


Pay Range

$123,000,000 to $225,000 annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
