The Research Scientist - Ruminant is an integral part of our Research and Development team based out of our US - Mendon, IL site.
Compensation range for this position is $100,000.00 -$120,000.00
Position Details
The Research Scientist - Ruminant plays a critical role in developing and executing the beef and dairy scientific program for animal health and nutrition research at the Phibro Innovation Center. The Research Scientist leads a robust, strategic, and coordinated research process focused on our nutritional specialty products (NSP) and medicated feed additives (MFA). The primary role is to develop a deep understanding of various animal health and nutrition topics, design and conduct experiments, collect and analyze data, write reports, and draw meaningful conclusions and future directions based on research findings. This role involves hands-on work with animals, individual feed systems, and occasionally farm equipment. The Ruminant Research Scientist will collaborate closely with scientists, research coordinators, technicians, and other experts to ensure successful planning and execution of research projects.
Key Responsibilities
34 Research trial planning and execution.34 Develop and maintain a long-term R&D plan based on business needs and timeliness.34 Develop trial protocols and final study reports.34 Leverage the full capabilities of the Phibro Innovation Center to address specific research questions or hypothesis.34 Stay up to date with current research in ruminant nutrition (beef and dairy), microbiome, immunity, MFA, or other related fields in animal health, and incorporate relevant findings into research programs.34 Direct data collection and management of animal and laboratory generated samples.34 Leveraging expertise and driving multi-disciplined teams of laboratory and field technicians for completion of animal and laboratory data collection and analysis.34 Supports the daily animal management and care, including but not limited to, feeding, treating, and aftercare of animals on study when necessary.34 Analyze data using statistical methods, software tools, and specialized techniques to draw meaningful conclusions.34 Maintain accurate and detailed records of all research activities, including protocols, regulatory documents, and research data.34 Write research papers, reports, or articles for publication in scientific journals.34 Present research findings at conferences or seminars.34 Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and animal unit bio-safety level containment principles.34 Identify, develop, and implement innovative solutions to improve research outcomes.34 Other tasks as directed by management.

Education & Experience
34 Advanced degree (PhD) in a relevant field of animal nutrition, physiology, immunology or related discipline.34 Experience in conducting research in ruminants.34 Experience in a research setting involving experimental design and data analysis techniques.34 Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic research environment.
