Your role and responsibilities
A successful candidate will lead a frequency control effort for multi-qubit processors based on superconducting qubits. The candidate is expected to independently drive cross-functional learning across multiple groups to understand and define metrics for Josephson junction tunability in the context of quantum gates, and will coordinate experiments at both elevated and cryogenic temperatures. The candidate is expected to disseminate results through impactful patents and represent IBM in professional meetings and societies.

- Proven record of research accomplishment
- Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related experience in materials science and superconducting qubits.
- Familiarity with programming languages (Python or equivalent).

- Familiarity with quantum technologies and fabrication/process knowledge.
- Familiarity with 200/300mm wafer probing stations.
- Familiarity with cryogenic dilution refrigeration systems and optimizing quantum gates.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
