Overview

About the Research Professional Position:

As a Research Professional, you have the opportunity to work on complex business problems within an inclusive and collaborative environment. Research Professionals can expect to work on multiple projects at a time across various practice areas and industries. Responsibilities may include:

  • Quantitative analyses: you will help develop data-driven models to address complex economic and financial problems using tools such as SAS, R, Stata, Python
  • Qualitative research: you will conduct research using academic and industry literature, publicly available data sources, and client materials; and you will synthesize findings to inform case strategy and analysis
  • Preparation of reports: you will assist in drafting expert reports, presentations, and internal memoranda, and help prepare materials for client and case team meetings
  • Team collaboration: you will engage regularly with colleagues at all levels through case work and have an opportunity to interact directly with clients
  • Firm-building initiatives: you will contribute to firm life by participating in recruiting, mentoring, and inclusion initiatives; pro bono work; and other business development activities

  • A bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in computer science, data science, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, or related subjects; relevant work experience is a plus, but not required
  • Strong quantitative and research skills, including analytical and creative problem-solving abilities; familiarity with AI tools; the ability to conduct targeted research to address client challenges; and intellectual curiosity with a strong desire to continuously learn.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and concisely
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to work independently as well as within a team setting
  • A strong academic track record, with demonstrated attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to producing high-quality work 

Applicants must have at least a 3.3 GPA or higher in their most recent degree to be considered.

 

Candidates must have valid post-graduation work authorization to join the firm. Groupe d’analyse (Analysis Group) will provide immigration support for such individuals, as appropriate under prevailing immigration policy.  

 

We are invested in professional development and growth and provide multidimensional support for Research Professionals who plan to apply to graduate school. After a few years with the firm, Research Professionals often attend top M.B.A., J.D., Ph.D., or other advanced degree programs. Groupe d’analyse (Analysis Group) provides financial sponsorship to high-performing Research Professionals interested in pursuing a full-time degree and returning to the firm, or a part-time degree while continuing to work at the firm. Research Professionals who join Groupe d’analyse (Analysis Group) with advanced degrees have the opportunity to progress to the Associate level and beyond.

 

Due to continuous interactions with clients, experts, and coworkers from the United States and other English-speaking regions, English proficiency is necessary for this position. It is not possible to avoid this requirement because such interactions are fundamental to the company’s operations and the performance of the position.

Groupe d’analyse (Analysis Group) offers competitive compensation. The estimated salary for this position is CAD $95,000. Compensation offered will be based on a number of factors including work experience, education, and skill level. This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus that is determined in large part by individual performance.
