Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The UCLA Center for Cannabis and Cannabinoids at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking a full-time Research Nurse to support innovative clinical research examining the therapeutic and adverse effects of cannabinoids and other substance in both health volunteers and patient populations.

Working closely with physician, psychologists, and research staff, you will play a key role in all phases of clinical research. Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and manage day-to-day study activities and participant scheduling
  • Conduct participant screening, enrollment, and study visits
  • Perform clinical procedures, including phlebotomy, IV placement, medication administration, EKGs, and monitoring of vital signs
  • Maintain study documentation, research databases, and regulatory records
  • Monitor participant safety and ensure protocol compliance
  • Support IRB submissions, study reporting, quality assurance activities, and team training
  • Collaborate with investigators and study staff to ensure successfully execution

Salary range: $70.59/hr - $106.80/hr

Job Qualifications

Required:
  • Current CA RN License
  • BSN Degree
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical research experience
  • Experience with phlebotomy, IV placement, EKGs, and clinical assessments
  • Ability to discuss sensitive topics, including substance use and other high-risk behaviors
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work occasional evenings as required by study protocols


Preferred:

  • ACLS certification
  • Experience working with substance use populations or behavioral health research
  • Experience with research databases, regulatory documentation, and FDA-regulated studies
