Job DescriptionThe Research Manager oversees research projects within a department or division. This individual assists the Principal Investigator (P.I.) in preparing and negotiating lab/bench research projects, budgets, pre and post-award grants management, and may have involvement in staffing and all related HR activity.
Responsibilities1. Collaborates with members of the research team in project developmentand the planning and delivery of optimal lab operations.
2. Facilitates timely and responsive communication and proactiveresponsible decision making.
3. Arranges for the availability of human and material resources tofacilitate positive outcomes for assigned research projects.
4. Participates in the development and implementation of ongoing qualityimprovement activities as per policies and protocols
5. Identifies, responds to, and, if necessary, escalates potential andactual risk management issues.
6. May be responsible for pre and post award grants management (if applicableto specific research program).
7. May be responsible for human resources, includes of recruitment, hiring,evaluating, retention, discipline and termination.
8. Develops and maintains systems which support efficient and effectivefunctioning of designated clinical areas.
9. Performs other related duties.
Qualifications- Bachelors degree (Masters preferred) in sciences or related degree
- 5 years experience in a hospital/medical environment and 1 year supervisory
Compensation StatementThe Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,661.00 - $146,016.14 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
