About the Role

As a key member of the Institutional Programs team, the Research Facilitator plays a vital role in supporting SFU's research infrastructure and research chairs portfolio. Specifically, the Facilitator will support the 2027 CFI Innovation Fund, the Canada Impact+ Research Infrastructure Fund, and related strategic research initiatives. Leveraging their research administration expertise, the Facilitator advances institutional priorities, enhances funding success, and supports faculty in preparing competitive applications. Key responsibilities include coordinating complex application processes, developing large-scale budgets, and ensuring the timely submission of compliant applications aligned with federal and institutional policies. By providing expert guidance and supporting efficient application processes, this position strengthens SFU's capacity to attract and retain top research talent and enhances SFU's reputation as a leader in research excellence.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, Arts, Equity Studies, or a related/relevant discipline, and four years of experience in research development and administration at a Canadian university, funding agency, or related organization, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.
