72About the RoleAs a key member of the Institutional Programs team, the Research Facilitator plays a vital role in supporting SFU's research infrastructure and research chairs portfolio. Specifically, the Facilitator will support the 2027 CFI Innovation Fund, the Canada Impact+ Research Infrastructure Fund, and related strategic research initiatives. Leveraging their research administration expertise, the Facilitator advances institutional priorities, enhances funding success, and supports faculty in preparing competitive applications. Key responsibilities include coordinating complex application processes, developing large-scale budgets, and ensuring the timely submission of compliant applications aligned with federal and institutional policies. By providing expert guidance and supporting efficient application processes, this position strengthens SFU's capacity to attract and retain top research talent and enhances SFU's reputation as a leader in research excellence.

Full Job Description
QualificationsMaster's degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, Arts, Equity Studies, or a related/relevant discipline, and four years of experience in research development and administration at a Canadian university, funding agency, or related organization, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with Canadian funding agencies, grant application processes, and related requirements.
- Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.
- Strong organizational, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in word processing, database, and online collaboration tools.
