The Role
As a Research Engineer at Paradromics, you'll work closely with our team of Scientists and Engineers to develop software that enables our clinical applications. You will help design software to restore communication ability for our BCI users, enabling successful clinical studies of the Connexus System.
Responsibilities
- Develop data curation strategies for user interaction and BCI data
- Realize BCI decoding algorithms as performant software
- Evaluate software with simulated and real neural data, as well as with our BCI hardware in the loop
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of new features and tools
- Work closely with our engineering, neuroscience, and quality teams to identify and capture needs and requirements
- Regularly travel between our Austin and Oakland offices
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent real world experience
- 3+ years of professional experience relevant to this role
Required Qualifications
- Highly proficient in Python
- Experience with Rust, C++, or Go
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and experience collaborating with machine learning practitioners
- Demonstrated prior professional experience with multiple programming languages
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of operating systems concepts and performant software
- Familiarity with signal processing / time series data processing concepts and algorithms.
- Experience working on projects involving quality management systems, such as medical device development, aviation, finance, defense
Salary: $120,000-150,000 base
