Full Job Description

GEICO is seeking a Research & Development Analyst. As the R&D Analyst your job duties will include creating and supporting multiple types of insurance products, assisting different business departments including Under Writing (UW), Claims, Marketing and Advertising to achieve their business goals, interacting with commercial grade databases in cloud or local, generating large-scale data and translating it into business values.

You will perform data exploration and R&D research independently and collaboratively, work with cross-functional business and technical teams on business and analytical innovation and contribute to project-related communication.

You will be part of a team that is focused on innovation in the insurance industry: Trying new modeling techniques, deriving new metrics, and tackling complex questions that the company has never tried to answer before.

Job Responsibilities:
• Design and implement research methodologies, including surveys, interviews, focus groups and data analysis.
• Collect and analyze data using statistical software and tools, ensuring accuracy, relevancy and reliability.
• Manage and organize the collected data to ensure easy access and retrieval.
• Interpret and present research findings in a clear and concise manner, tailored to the needs of different stakeholders.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to research projects.
• Support the development of business plans, market entry strategies and product development initiatives.
• Conduct competitive analysis to benchmark the company’s performance against industry peers and competitors.
• Collaborate with marketing, product and sales teams to align research efforts with business objectives.
• Correspond and coordinate with external research partners and agencies when necessary.
• Stay updated on industry developments and emerging trends to ensure the company remains competitive and innovative.
 

Required skills and qualifications:
• Master’s degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operation Research or related quantitative and analytics fields
• Demonstrable experience as a Research Analyst or similar role, with 2-3 years in market research, data analysis, or business intelligence.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and generate insights.
• Proficiency in statistical software and data analysis tools (SPSS, SAS, R, or Python).
• Advanced Excel skills for analysis and data visualization.
• Ability to interpret complex data and present it in a comprehensible manner.
• Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and effectively.
• Solid organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and analysis.
 

Preferred skills and qualifications:
• Advanced degree in Business, Economics, Statistics or a related field.
• Relevant certification in market research, data analysis, research methodologies, etc.
• Knowledge of advanced data analysis techniques and methodologies.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Familiarity with market research and competitive analysis.
• Experience in using machine learning algorithms for data analysis.
• Proficiency in database management and SQL.


 

Annual Salary

$75,000.00 - $150,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
