Position Summary

The Office of Research Development (ORD), which executes catalytic and capacity-building initiatives that strengthen the University's research enterprise and expand its sponsored programs portfolio, is seeking a dedicated Research Development Administrator to support internal funding programs. Working with the Research Development Manager, the Research Development Administrator supports the Office of Research Development (ORD) by supporting the end-to-end lifecycle of internal seed funding programs, including award setup, No-Cost Extension processing, and compliance. Additionally, this role serves as the backup administrator for the InfoReady platform, providing system training, troubleshooting, and leveraging data to generate insights for leadership. Beyond program and system management, the Administrator coordinates ORD events-ranging from workshops to agency visits-and serves as a point of contact for faculty and staff, ensuring efficient processes, accurate reporting, and effective communication across the research ecosystem.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree Experience in a professional office environment, with proven proficiency in customer service and exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree

Required Experience:
2+ years

Preferred Experience:
3+ years Office administration experience within a higher education setting. Demonstrated excellence in customer service, with a proven ability to provide professional, clear, and responsive support to faculty, staff. Direct experience in research administration.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Relevant experience working in an office setting with strong customer service skills, including excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Familiarity with grants, working with research administration, faculty, and events coordination. Experience with Cayuse and InfoReady systems. Ability to communicate sensitive information verbally and in writing to individuals at all levels. Ability to act professionally and confidentially with all levels of employees and outside groups, and effectively respond to simultaneous requests and projects. Ability to take initiative and manage various tasks and projects simultaneously.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $76,500.00 to USD $93,500.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
