The expected pay range for this position is $100,000-$110,000 annually.
This Research Associate position will play a key role in the design, execution, and communication of research projects related to electrochemical decarbonization technologies and self-driving labs. The position is within the Department of Chemistry at the Point Grey Campus of the University of British Columbia. This is a non-tenure track position.
Duties:- Lead development of project proposals and project tracking documents related to thin-film materials, electrochemical reactors for carbon utilization and storage, and self-driving lab research and development;
- Direct experiment planning and contribute to experiment execution related to thin-film materials, electrochemical reactors for carbon utilization and storage, and self-driving lab research and development;
- Contribute to management of a multidisciplinary research team;
- Mentor students and colleagues;
- Ensure team members follow policies and procedures;
- Liaise with external collaborators as needed;
- Oversee sourcing and purchasing of necessary equipment and supplies and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:- PhD in chemistry;
- Bachelor's degree in computer science;
- 6+ years of experience with self-driving labs, electrochemical reactors, and thin-film materials;
- Strong publication record, particularly in fields of thin-film materials, electrochemical reactors, and self-driving labs.
- Experience with Python, C/C++, UI/UX;
- Effective verbal, visual, and written science communication skills;
- Experience in mentoring team/other researchers.
